Established in 2002, the International Cocoa Initiative (ICI) is a charitable foundation that works towards eliminating the worst forms of child labour and forced labour from cocoa farming and chocolate production.

We are a unique partnership between civil society, labour unions and the chocolate industry, all of whom are represented on our Board. We work together with the authorities in cocoa-producing countries, with national and international technical agencies, and with the cocoa-growing communities themselves to offer a real and sustainable solution to the worst forms of child labour, and forced labour, in the cocoa supply chain.

Resources, ideas and energies are pooled in the common search for sustainable solutions to the problems of child labour and forced labour, and in taking appropriate and effective action.
