COMMUNITY AFFAIRS MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES The responsibilities for this office shall include but is not limited to the following: • Developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders • Defining the company’s corporate and social responsibility program, social management system, policies and procedures • Liaising with relevant governmental agencies to address community-related matters • Managing baseline census, land-use and other socio-economic surveys • Development of local communities and creating a sustained community-awareness programme • Developing methods and techniques for achieving improved communications between the Company and its stakeholder community projects sponsored by the Company ________________________________________ QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE • Degree in the Humanities or Social Science or any other related discipline with at least 10 years working experience in community or public relations role in the mining industry • Knowledge of principles, practices, methods and techniques related to community or public relations • Ability to develop and implement policies and establish project objectives to achieve them • Excellent understanding of community functioning and structures • Knowledge of governmental structures, systems, processes, and procedures • Fluent in the local dialects and able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must be a computer literate • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to form effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
